Adding in Kitchen Mirrors

Kitchen Mirrors
Adding in Kitchen Mirrors - Kitchen mirrors might not be the first thing that you think of. However, this can really help you solve a lot of problems in your space. In fact you might already have one in your kitchen but you really don't know what to do with them. It seems like a few decades ago it was very popular to have floor-to-ceiling mirrors and that seems very dated. There are a few updates that you can do to this kind of room. The advantage to using mirrors in the kitchen is that it bounces light around the space. You can relate it to your stainless steel appliances and make your entire space feel bigger which is especially important for galley kitchens. In older homes it was perfectly fine to have a smaller kitchen but because so many newer homes have such large kitchens and open floor plans they can leave you feeling a little bit claustrophobic. This is a very stylish way to bring in a lot of light.

One thing that you might not consider is a kitchen mirror backsplash but this can really be very fun and funky feeling. It can have a retro vibe to it that will be very elegant. You might want to try this in an all white kitchen. This can come in the form of tiles and of course you still need to make sure that you don't break them because even if it's for a kitchen it still gives you bad luck if you believe in superstition.

This can also work very well in a modern kind of sensibility just because the lines of this kind of theme are so plain and the colors are so subtle or even nonexistent. Instead, you can just find ways to add in mirrors for that little bit of sparkle and importance to the space so that it looks like you truly decorated because you did after all.

One thing that you will want to be aware of when using these in kitchens is that you will need to keep them away from grease just because this can be very difficult to clean. This could leave your entire kitchen feeling messy. It might be a better option just to hang them on the walls far away from your cooking area or just use them in a breakfast nook.

Kitchen mirrors can also be a very unique way to bring in artwork into your space. You might already have one of these pieces just collecting dust in an attic or garage. It's a good idea to just put it over a kitchen sink. This is where you spend most of your time and you might not have a window to look out of.

The type of mirror that you choose is really a way to bring home a theme. If you would go with very ornate frames it can be elegant. If you take the same frame and then paint it white and then you have a shabby chic look. If you have barn wood, then of course this is going to be very country. If you have a stainless steel version this can really talk to your appliances, sink, faucet, and even your drawer pulls. This really gives a very cohesive design style to your kitchen. This is so important because when you're decorating one of these rooms just getting a very cohesive sense of flow is going to make it seem bigger and more peaceful even if you are working with a very small space.

There are a few styles of mirrors that are very popular for hanging on the wall. It seems that in the country style there is a tendency toward mirrors that have almost a window pane effect on them. If you were going with a Victorian kind of look then you could go with a Venetian style mirror. This usually has floral etchings, as well as very feminine shapes to it. This is a way to add a lot of formality to your space. You can just hang a few of these kitchen mirrors around your breakfast nook to really give everything a little bit more life and light.
